In two meets this season, the men's and women's teams have combined for three wins and one second place finish. The women have both victories, the men hold the second place finish. Samantha Libby (New Gloucester, Maine) and Naomi Ricciotti (Phoenix, Ariz.) have the top times among the Nighthawks women, Tim Brown (Orange, Conn.) and Joshua Oliver (Poughkeepsie, N.Y.) hold the top times for the men.
The Nighthawks Women's Cross Country team won their second consecutive meet on Saturday, winning the Mitchell 5k by two points over Mitchell. Newbury's total team time would also better Mitchell by just one second.
In the Nighthawks first meet this season at the Wheelock Opener, Newbury runners combined to turn in the top eight overall times (3 women, 5 men). The men's team combined for a time of 1:25:17, beating the second place team, Daniel Webster, by over 19 minutes and averaging a time of nearly four minutes better per runner.

BROOKLINE, Mass. – Head Men's and Women's Cross Country, Indoor and Outdoor Track & Field Coach Valerie Sturtevant has resigned her position at Newbury College to pursue new career opportunities. Sturtevant will remain on staff through Tuesday, August 16th.
