Sanders, Snead Race in Finals of NCAA Division III Track & Field New England Championships

CAMBRIDGE, Mass. - In the first appearance for any Nighthawk track & field athlete in program history, Nighthawks freshmen Taymise Sanders and Desiree Snead participated in the finals of the NCAA Division III New England Track & Field Championships on Saturday afternoon, hosted by MIT.

Sanders qualified for the finals in the 100-meter dash and 200-meter dash, finishing in sixth place in both races. In the 100-meter, Sanders ran in a time of 12.32 seconds. In her 200-meter race, Sanders ran in 25.47 seconds.

Snead qualified for the 100-meter hurdles, finishing seventh in her race. Snead ran with a time of 15.42 seconds in the hurdles.

Newbury collected eight total points in their first New England Championships, finishing 25th in the meet while being the only team representing the New England Collegiate Conference.
