BOSTON, Mass. – A four-goal first half, including a natural hat-trick in 15 minutes by junior Shannon Walsh (Massapequa, N.Y.) gave the Newbury Nighthawks plenty of offense in the 4-0 victory over Mitchell College on Saturday afternoon at The Winsor School.

Walsh may have provided the three goal outing, but sophomore Jennifer McDonald (Magnolia, Texas) would open the scoring with her first goal of the season, on an assist by Elizabeth Kia (Kea'au, Hawaii) in the 21st minute.

Then, just six minutes later, Walsh would begin her scoring display, knocking home her eighth, ninth, and 10th goals of the season. Carly Gibbard (Commack, N.Y.) was credited with an assist on Walsh's third goal.

Noelle Sass (Randolph, Mass.) got the win in her 10th start of the year, improving her record to 5-5-0, while making four saves. Jordan Lohneiss drops her record to 1-9-0, despite her seven saves.

The victory sets numerous record marks in program history including a new team mark in shutouts in a season (5), while Sass picks up individual honors including tied most wins by a goalie (5) and most shutouts by a goalie in a season and career (3).

The victory improves Newbury to 5-9-0 (2-4 NECC) overall. Newbury currently sits 7th in the conference after today's win and will battle the 8th team in conference, Daniel Webster on the road, Tuesday afternoon; kickoff scheduled for 3:00 p.m.
