MILTON, Mass. - Curry College goals by Briana Fitzsimmons and Kelly Parker, scored 48 seconds apart in the second half, would be all the offense needed for the Colonels as they defeated the Newbury Nighthawks 2-0 on Tuesday night at Curry College in Milton.

After a scoreless first half with saw much of the play held by Curry, Colonels senior Fitzsimmons scored her first goal of the season in the 51st minute. In the 52nd minute, Parker scored her fifth of the year, giving the home team a 2-0 lead. Both goals were assisted by Amanda Crisfulla.

The normally dynamic Nighthawk Shannon Walsh (Massapequa, N.Y) was quiet on the night, only managing one shot on goal in the 90 minutes. Sophomore goalie Noelle Sass (Randolph, Mass.) kept the Nighthawks in the match making a career-high 13 saves on the evening, including seven saves on Crisfulla.

The loss by the Nighthawks breaks their two game winning streak as they prepared to re-enter conference play over the weekend.

Newbury's record drops to 3-6-0 (1-1 NECC) as they regroup and prepare to face NECC opponent Southern Vermont College on the road on Saturday; the match kickoff is scheduled for 1:00 p.m.
