Close Calls for Nighthawks

Women's soccer sits at 1-5-0 headed into Wednesday's game against Pine Manor and has lost two close games by a 1-0 score and one game by 2-0. The misfortunes of these close losses has the Nighthawks on the edge of finding another victory as the team continues to improve and team chemistry increases.

Offensive Power of Walsh

Junior Shannon Walsh (Massapequa, N.Y.) has generated many offensive opportunities for the Nighthawks through the first six games. Walsh leads the team in goals with three, shots with 17, and shot on goal with 12. Sophomore Jennifer McDonald (Magnolia, Texas) has also been producing for the Nighthawks after sitting out the first two games. McDonald has 10 shots and five shots on goal, but has yet to break into the goal column.

Short Rostered Gators

Pine Manor enters Wednesday's fixture at 3-1-0 on the 2016 campaign. Impressive in all of this is the 12 women roster that Pine Manor currently holds. Nine players have started all four games for the Gators team. Freshman Cassie Cavender leads Pine Manor with seven goals, out of the 11 the Gators have scored. Elizabeth Anderson and Marcella Martinez both have two goals.
