    Saturday's doubleheader between the Nighthawks and Southern Vermont Mountaineers featured the highest producing offensive output in Nighthawks program history as the offense was on fire for a sweep of Southern Vermont.
  • Sass' Home Run in Seventh Forces Doubleheader Split at Regis

    Pride junior Alexa Nejaime (Sandisfield, Mass.) batted 3-for-4 with two runs scored, helping the Regis College Pride end the Newbury Nighthawks perfect conference record by defeating them 8-3 on Wednesday evening at Regis Field.
  • Gooden Bats .421, Earns NECC Rookie of the Week Honors

    Nighthawks freshman Arianna Gooden (Bakersfield, Calif.) has been named the New England Collegiate Conference Rookie of the Week by the league office for the week ending on April 16. It's her first nomination to the Rookie of the Week honors and marks the second straight week a Nighthawks player has been awarded the Rookie nomination (Mallory Stefan).
  • Babcock's Walk-Off Keeps Nighthawks Perfect in NECC at 9-0
    April 15, 2017
    After an offensive outburst for the Nighthawks in the opening game, a 10-0, game-shortened, victory over the Mitchell Mariners, the Nighthawks needed to battle back from three runs down in the eventual 6-5 walk-off win, keeping the Nighthawks undefeated in the New England Collegiate Conference.
  • Nighthawks Take Game One, Second Game Halted

    After improving to 7-0 to start the season in the New England Collegiate Conference with a 7-2 victory in Game One, the Nighthawks and Lynx had to halt play in Game Two due to darkness with the Lynx leading 5-2 in the sixth.
  • Stefan's Week at the Plate Yields Rookie Honors in NECC

    Nighthawks freshman Mallory Stefan (Thornton, Colo.) broke out offensively this week, finishing with four games with at least two hits and as a result, has been named the New England Collegiate Conference Rookie of the Week in softball for the week ending on April 10.
  • Softball Stays Unbeaten in NECC Following Sweep at Becker

    A tie-breaking single in the top of the seventh provided the scoring needed for a 4-3 victory in the opening game of the doubleheader, while a 12-run explosion in the second half of the doubleheader lifted the Nighthawks to victory. Newbury now sits atop the New England Collegiate Conference standings at 6-0; the best start to conference play in program history.
  • Nighthawks Offense Overpowers Wildcats for Sunday Sweep

    CHESTNUT HILL, Mass. - The Nighthawks offense produced 21 runs in eight innings total, the best two-game output of the season for Newbury in the sweep of the Wheelock Wildcats on Sunday afternoon in New England Collegiate Conference play at Pine Manor Softball Field.
  • Nighthawks Swept in Pair of Walk-Off Losses at Curry

    The Nighthawks three-game winning streak came to an end on Friday afternoon as a pair of one-run decisions went against the Nighthawks, who fell 9-8 in game one and 8-7 in game two at the Curry Colonels with both games coming down to the bottom of the seventh and a pair of dramatic walk-off wins for Curry at D. Forbes Will Field.
  • Nighthawks Sweep Wildcats, Start NECC Season 2-0

    Following multiple postponements and delays for the Nighthawks to get their New England Collegiate Conference schedule underway, the weather finally cooperated enough for a doubleheader to be played between the Nighthawks and Wildcats. Despite the lack of games that Nighthawks have had in the past two weeks, there was no negative effect as the Nighthawks start the NECC season with a sweep of the Wildcats.

    The Fighting Scots and Nighthawks split a pair of games on Wednesday with both games coming down to the late innings, providing late drama and final inning heroics each way.
  • Sass Goes 3-for-4 Earning NECC Player of the Week

    Nighthawks sophomore Noelle Sass (Randolph, Mass.) broke through for a strong week and, as a result, has been named the New England Collegiate Conference Player of the Week for the week ending on March 26.
  • Nighthawks Open Home Schedule vs. Mt. Ida
    March 24, 2017
    After the postponement of two different series to open the season, the Nighthawks finally open their post-Arizona schedule on Friday afternoon vs. Mount Ida College. The game, originally scheduled to be played at Pine Manor, has moved to Mount Ida's field with the Nighthawks remaining the home team. The Nighthawks enter 1-7 after two full weeks in between games. The Mustangs sit at 3-6 having last played on Thursday; a 10-3 loss to Eastern Nazarene.
  • Nighthawks Split Doubleheader on Cold, Wet Friday

    After being pushed back a day due to scheduling difficulties, the Newbury Nighthawks finally returned to action after Spring Break in Arizona following two weeks rest. On a cold, wet Friday evening, the Nighthawks and Mount Ida Mustangs split a Friday doubleheader at Alumni Field at Mount Ida.
  • Softball Drops Two in Final Afternoon in Arizona

    A pair of losses for the Nighthawks ends their time in Arizona at 1-7. Sophomore Alina Milauskas (Pawtucket, R.I.) started the season off on a hot streak, batting .458 with three doubles.

    A comeback falls just short in another one-run loss to Hiram College in the first game for the Nighthawks, while a big first inning by the Mt. Marty Lancers gave them plenty of offense to lift them over the Nighthawks in the second game for Newbury.

    TUCSON, Ariz. - A double steal in the top of the second inning by Hiram that scored Terriers sophomore Kourtney Holcomb (Garrettsville, Ohio) was the only run of the game in the Hiram Terriers 1-0 victory over the Newbury Nighthawks on Monday morning in the Arizona Desert; the opening game of the season for the Nighthawks.

    The Nighthawks, who finished third in the preseasoning voting, get their season started in Arizona over Spring Break, playing eight games in five days. A great opportunity to start the season on the right foot in hopes of making a title run in 2017.
