    Nighthawks junior Jeduan Langston (Roxbury, Mass.) has been elected to the New England Collegiate Conference All-Third Team in 2016-17, as announced by the NECC office this afternoon. It's Langston's first nomination to the NECC All-Conference Teams in his three year career at Newbury College.

    On an afternoon that Wildcats senior Anthony Williams (White Plains, N.Y.) scored 36 points on 15-of-19 shooting, it was senior Nicholas Fenton (East Hartford, Conn.) who stole the show, pulling off an incredibly rare 20-20 game, with 21 points and 20 assists on Saturday at Pappas Gymnasium in the Wildcats 96-80 win on Newbury College Senior Day.

In the first match between the two sides on Jan. 14, Daniel Webster earned a 16 point win over the Nighthawks, 81-65. The Eagles posted a huge advantage in points in the paint, 42-24, while the Nighthawks transition offense after turnovers gave them a 17-12 advantage in points off turnovers.

Pride to Pappas Gymnasium on Saturday afternoon in a game where both sides need the victory to move themselves up the New England Collegiate Conference standings for an opportunity to make the postseason. The Nighthawks sit at 1-10 in the NECC, while the Pride come in at 3-9 in league play. The Nighthawks have a game in hand on the Pride with two weeks remaining in the season. The Pride won the first meeting between these two sides, 75-74 at Regis.

The Nighthawks currently are outside of playoff contention with six games remaining in their NECC schedule.

    Thursday night the Nighthawks travel to Medford for their second to last, non-conference game of the season against No. 4 Tufts Universtiy. Tufts enters the game 2-1 against top-25 teams this season, with one of their two losses coming to No. 1 Babson in the Big 4 Challenge in early December. The Jumbos are riding a nine game winning streak, while Thursday night is the beginning of a three-game road trip for the Nighthawks. The two sides met last year, a 99-78 win for Tufts.

    Two teams fighting for playoff position at the mid-point of the New England Collegiate Conference schedule battle on Tuesday night when the Nighthawks welcome the Mitchell Mariners to Pappas Gymnasium in Brookline. The Nighthawks currently sit out of the postseason with eight conference games remaining. The Mariners are seventh in the NECC with nine games remaining. The Mariners picked up back-to-back wins against Regis and Wheelock to move to 2-5 in conference.

    Coming off their first victory of the season, the Nighthawks look to make it two straight when they battle the second place team in the league in Lesley University. The two sides met on Dec. 1 in Newbury's fifth game of the season, a game won by Lesley at Pappas Gymnasium. In the first meeting, seven Lynx players had at least nine points, while the team shot 60.3 percent from the field.
