    Mariners junior Eddie Santiago (New London, Conn.) pitched a complete-game, two-hitter, helping the Mariners cruise to a 6-1 victory over the Newbury Nighthawks on Wednesday afternoon. The victory gives the Mariners a 2-1 series win over the Nighthawks on the season.

Rams catcher overthrew the pitcher, leading to an aware Sobray to take home and beat the throw giving the Nighthawks a 4-3 lead, while a five-run eighth inning for the Nighthawks led to their 9-5 win on Monday evening.
  • Nighthawks Start 6-0; Forrest Breaks Program Win Mark

    A comeback in the opening game of the doubleheader and an offensive explosion in the second game lead to the Nighthawks to two wins over Simpson College of Iowa in the opening games for the Nighthawks at the Kino Sports Complex. The 6-0 start is the best start to the season over a six game stretch in program history; the Nighthawks had a 5-1 start in 2012.
