BROOKLINE, Mass. - Newbury College Director of Athletics, Jonathan Harper, announced today that Peter Kazlas will not return as Head Men's and Women's Volleyball Coach effective Friday, April 13.
In two seasons as head coach of the men's and women's programs, Kazlas oversaw a men's team that went 15-34 and a women's program that went 14-32. In his first season, Kazlas coached the women's team to a 7-1 New England Collegiate Conference record and a share of the NECC Regular Season Championship.
In that 7-1 conference season, Kazlas coached NECC Defensive Player of the Year Julia Leggett, two NECC First-Teamers, Leggett and Courtney Banks and a Second-Team All-NECC, Kataya Sykes.
In his two seasons as men's head coach, Kazlas qualified for the NECC Semifinals in both years.
"I want to wish Pete the best of luck in his future endeavors," said Harper. "I truly appreciate the dedication and time that Coach Kazlas gave to Newbury College and the volleyball programs. It is our hope that we will find a talented coach and recruiter as our next Head Men's and Women's Volleyball Coach."
An immediate search for Kazlas' replacement is underway.
